The owner of Hill Tide Custom Rods came to me with a simple vision for his logo. He wanted to incorporate a tide chart and the moon in the design. His company focuses on salt water fishing where the tides are so important to find fish and to land fish. The logo would be put on hats, shirts, social media, websites, and of course- directly on the rods.

I decided to simplify the tide chart into one easy flowing line to create a clean feel as the focus of the logo. A hand drawn moon illustration to add a little bit of extra flavor to represent the hand made rods that he creates. I decided on a curvy and smooth text for "Hill Tide" as a representation of water flowing smoothly, and encapsulated all of this in an oval shaped design to make it easy to apply to a rod and to still be legible at even less than an inch.
